Aromas of ripe banana, lemon zest, honeydew melon, and spring flowers. The palate is quite rich with a firm acid structure, and tastes of banana daiquiri and key lime pie. The finish is long and bright.
The grapes used to make this wine hail from Catie’s Corner vineyard located in the northern area of the Russian River Valley. This famed growing region is famous for its relatively warm days and very cool nights attributed to a nightly marine layer pulled in from the Pacific Ocean. The Russian River’s much wider ancient route formed fine silty loam soils, perfect for high quality white winegrowing.
Whole cluster press to tank for a one day cold settle. The primary lees were racked off and inoculated with yeast, then sent to neutral barrels for barrel fermentation. Fermented to dryness in barrel and aged for six months prior to bottling.
